Overview
NoNo Nine is a Sudoku game with optional Google Play Games sign-in and an online leaderboard. You can also play as a guest. We collect only the information needed to provide these features, operate the service and protect the leaderboard against abuse.
Information stored on your device
Game progress, settings, local statistics, saved puzzles and an installation identifier are stored locally on your Android device. This information is used to resume games and remember your preferences. Removing the app may remove this local information.
Information processed online
If you use Google Play Games, we receive your Play Games player ID, display name and avatar URL. If you continue as a guest, we generate a pseudonymous guest identifier and guest name from the app installation identifier.
When an eligible completed game is submitted to the leaderboard, we process:
- game type and difficulty;
- completion time, hints used, mistakes and calculated score;
- completion date, a unique completion identifier and app version.
Games played with automatic notes are not accepted into the online leaderboard.
How we use information
- to authenticate players and provide guest access;
- to display leaderboard entries and player statistics;
- to prevent duplicate, implausible or abusive score submissions;
- to maintain the reliability and security of the service.
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising.
Public leaderboard
Your display name, avatar, rank, game type, difficulty, completion time and score may be publicly visible on sudoku.martijnv.nl. Your Google Play player ID and authentication tokens are not displayed publicly.
Google Play Games
Google Play Games Services is provided by Google and is subject to Google's own privacy terms. NoNo Nine receives only the profile information and authorization needed for sign-in and leaderboard identity. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Retention and deletion
Online player and score records are retained while the leaderboard is operated or as needed to protect it against abuse. You may request removal of your online player profile and associated scores by contacting us. We may retain limited records where required for security, legal obligations or fraud prevention.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS connections, authenticated score submission, rate limiting and server-side validation. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

NoNo Nine is not specifically directed at children below the age at which parental consent is required under applicable law. A parent or guardian may contact us to request removal of information relating to a child.
